Blogging at the edge of the shift… Part XIII (The Knife & The Fork)
The healing of the Earth & the healing of the Human Spirit are one and the same.
Neither can be achieved without the other.
The Human Spirit has been badly misguided for at least a few hundred years now. Quite clearly since the dawn of the industrial revolution in the late 1700’s , when this misguidance first started to impact the “other” quite severely. We saw “Man” ( the masculine ) as a priority and Mother Nature (the feminine) something to be fought and conquered, shaped and subdued.
We fell from grace and lost our enchantment with Nature.
We learnt how to see Nature as separate from ourselves. That’s when our Ecological crisis began.
Today, we and our children & the rest of creation are paying the most severe price possible.
The symptoms of this disenchantment are obviously apparent and I need not list them here in this blog.
But one sentence is enough to list the root cause of this armageddon humanity is inflicting on itself: Separation from Mother Nature. To sum it up in one word : Disenchantment.
Don’t forget this word. No matter what you are doing to save the Earth and no matter where you are on your path to awakening please stay keenly aware of this and keep this in mind. Keep it in mind when your levels of frustration and anger seem uncontrollable and your sadness unbearable.
When you see people consuming and trashing our planet like we had 3 more in spare as back up.
When you see people ordering any manner of food at restaurants, leaving half of their plates unfinished and then ordering dessert and not finishing that either. You know where I’m coming from. Enough said.
However, let me make one thing absolutely clear beyond any doubt. Let me state the truth at the expense of sounding arrogant and opening up myself to attack by the status quo.
You cannot call your self an environmentalist, a change maker, a warrior, a force for good in this world if you are still eating meat, fish & dairy as part of your daily diet. Seen.
Today the global consumption of meat, fish & dairy is responsible for over 50% of all the world’s pollution, irrevocable loss of natural resources, drought, famine, world hunger, depletion of oceans and an overall unprecedented irreversible destruction of our environment.
If you desire to change the world, change your diet.
If your deepest desire is to create a fair & just world, create it one bite at a time.
Three times a day vote with your stomach. Be the change.
A move towards a plant based diet is the solution. It’s that simple. Truly.
The knife & the fork are the most powerful tools in the hands of humanity today!
